MARGO CREEK ADVENTURE
Each August, some of the bears from Brooks Falls go on “a walkabout” searching for salmon in other areas. Margo Creek is one of those places.
Why Margo Creek?
Truly Off the Beaten Path: Unlike the more well-known bear viewing sites, Margo Creek is seldom visited, giving you the chance to witness the wild bears of Katmai without the crowds. This secluded spot is perfect for those looking to connect deeply with nature and experience a side of Alaska few get to see.
Incredible Bear Viewing: Margo Creek is home to a thriving population of Alaskan brown bears. Here, you can observe them in their natural habitat — fishing for salmon, interacting with one another, and going about their daily lives in the untouched wilderness of Katmai.
Small Group Experience: Our tours are limited to just 2-4 guests, ensuring an intimate and personalized adventure. Our small group size allows us to provide detailed insights into the bears and the local ecosystem, making your experience both educational and unforgettable.
For those seeking an even more secluded and rugged adventure, Katmai Expeditions' bear-viewing trips to Margo Creek offer an unparalleled experience. Far from the more frequented Brooks Camp, this remote location provides a rare opportunity to witness Alaska's wilderness in its most pristine and untouched state. The journey to Margo Creek demands good physical condition, ensuring that only the most adventurous and prepared travelers can access this seldom-visited haven. Here, the encounters with wildlife are more exclusive, making the experience all the more rewarding for those who crave solitude and the raw beauty of nature.
